White-winged Crossbills
I encountered several flocks of
White-winged Crossbills
, totaling about 30 birds, in the Prairie River Mouth provincial reserve, east of Terrace Bay. All were feeding on Tamarack Cones despite an abundance of White Spruce cones in the area.
